Talking About Colombia

I first heard the terms "humanitarian crisis" and "failed state" in reference to Colombia in 1999. I am a Colombian who grew up in Canada and I have returned to Colombia many times since then with an itch to unravel this character, "Colombia", for myself. Read more.

That hut in the header photo is a drug lab. In those string sacs, there are coca leaves. The image was captured by one brave photographer, Elsa Victoria Ossa, as she drove by in a Jeep.
