Clara Rojas heads NGO that helps kidnapping victims.

Clara Rojas is the new president of Pais Libre, the NGO that helps victims of kidnapping and their families. Clara is the former hostage who had a son while in captivity. She was held by the FARC for nearly six years.

It is the first time that a kidnapping victim heads Pais Libre.

“The FARC must remember their promise and return the kidnapped,” Clara told Semana magazine.

In the past, Clara has spoken about the importance of resilience. She has advised that throughout any traumatic event, you must try to adapt and foster your free thoughts. No one can take away your freedom to think and dream. She has also emphasized the importance of self-care, self-image, and personal motivation.
